Bernard Wolfson
March 28, 1923 - July 9, 2017
Bernard (Bernie) Wolfson peacefully passed on, Sunday July 9, 2017. He was 94 years old. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. before moving to Laurelton N.J. where he was a graduate of Point Pleasent H.S. in 1941. He was a proud veteran of the army, serving in WWII as a radar and radio repairman stationed in the South Pacific. After the war he married Harriet Adoff, had two sons and enjoyed family life. Bernie lived in Jackson and Freehold before settling in Beachwood N.J. where he owned and operated the popular "Handy Shop" newspaper and convenience store. After his wife's untimely passing he eventually met and fell in love again. He married Alda O. Clancy in 1978 and a few years later moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. In Bernies retirement years he kept busy with his love of gardening, playing the keyboard, ballroom dancing with his wife and granddaughters Clancy and Chelsea and maintained an avid interest in WWII history. Bernie is pre-deceased by his first wife Harriet Wolfson and his son Steven Wolfson who sadly passed in 2016. He is survived by his wife Alda Olsen Wolfson, son Martin Wolfson, his stepchildren, Paul and Gary Stephan, Nicholas and Martin Clancy, Loran Clancy-Apgar and 16 grandchildren who will all greatly miss him.
