Randy Warner
Alan and I had known each other at the University of Arizona where we met at AEPi. We had kept in touch and he paid me a visit in Hawaii in 1984 where I reside. I took him for an overnight hike into Haleakala crater with friends. I wanted to show him a lava tube. We proceeded pre sunset to the trailhead and entered with flashlights and explored this lava tube. When we excited it was already dark and the trail back to the cabin was not discernible. A friend of mine, an outdoorsman and hunter, realized this. He was back at the cabin. From about a half mile away we heard him playing a Chuck Mangione tune on his trumpet. Like the pied piper, he drew us back to the cabin with the audio. We were like kids back then and he had such a good time on his vacation to Hawaii ! I love you Alan & will always have fond memories of you.
Your buddy,
Randy Warner
