I thought of Barbara as my stepmom. 17 years ago, my father took us 3 to a small restaurant so I could meet Barbara and then he went for a long walk so we could get to know each other. Later that evening when he asked me what I thought I said “Go for it!” Barbara was beautiful, kind, happy and really funny. Her jokes always made my family laugh. My father adored Barbara and being with them was always like going to a party. When we would arrive from the airport, cocktails were always ready and a good time had by all. Most of al, even after my father passed in her arms sitting at a bar ( a perfect end), I felt a part of Barbara’s family and my brother and I always talked about how luck we had her in our lives. We will miss her. Love you Barb

Over 16 years ago, my father Paul and Barbara were introduced. Curiously, they both had recently lost their spouses(one of them being my mother), and they both had the same last name, Goldberg.
I was very hesitant to meet up with my dad and Barbara, but finally we did meet for dinner. I was taken aback when I met her. She was beautiful, impeccably dressed, articulate and outspoken. Barbara even let me know how she was initially upset that I didn't want to meet up with her and my dad weeks earlier.
Over the next number of months I joined them often for dinner and I couldn't help but observe the magic in their relationship. I grew accustomed to Barbara's outspokenness. The joy in their love for each other was apparent for everyone to see. And then, I too fell in love with Barbara and I smiled whenever she called me her son. After my dad passed away over five years ago, my love for Barbara continued to grow.
I travel often, with my partner Wayne, and whenever we would return to Florida we would be sure to have either dinner or lunch with Barbara. She made sure that she always brought along her homemade cake for us to take home. She always made us laugh with her amazing joke telling ability. And at the end of every meal she always said "we had such a good time."
I will miss her so much.

Bobby and I had five happy, loving years together. She always was the life of the party with her jokes. We had dinner together every night, either at her home or a restaurant. She seemed to know many people everywhere we went. She loved to cook and was a great baker of cakes. We fulfilled each other with our love, even though we had different views on many things. I will miss her terribly. She will live in my heart forever. Rest in Peace, my love. Ken

I am Ken Alter’s oldest daughter. I shared drinks with her and my father Ken Alter over the past few years, and we shared many other activities too. We spent time just talking and going out for dinners too. She even had me over for dinner a few times with my father. I was grateful for her reliance on an almost vegetation diet. I remember her shopping for fresh vegetables and making some wonderful dishes. I know what she cooked helped keep my father healthy and I enjoyed it when I ate her cooking too. I remember her having an outgoing personality who would keep things lively. Thank you Barbara for all you did with my father. You are sorely missed.

Barbara was the "life of the party." I was privileged to have her in my life. To know Barabara was to love her. I will miss her in every way. She loved playing canasta
and the captain at the table at all times. Her laughter and jokes will always be remembered.
