Barbara C Poliard's Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Barbara Charitable Poliard, also
known to many as Madam Ebel Poliard - a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend.
Barbara passed on November 3rd, 2025, at 10:15 p.m. after 22 years of illness
surrounded by the loving care of her children, notably her daughter Ermione who
accompanied her through every stage.
Barbara was born in Anse-a-Foleur on June 3rd 1937, in the northwest region of Haiti,
the second of eight children. In 1980, along with her children, she immigrated to
Broward, Florida.
In Haiti, Barbara was an entrepreneur. She established her own retail business and
reflected compassion and integrity in all she did. After moving to the States, Barbara
worked with Holiday Inn before joining West Side Hospital, where she was employed for over 12 years. Beyond her professional life, Barbara was a fantastic cook, and she
loved the arts. You would always see her singing in the choir and acting in plays. She
also loved to travel, making memories for her and her family.
She is survived by her children: Alberthe; Wilchelson (and spouse Derly); Ketline (and
spouse Christopher); Myrline; and Ermione. Her grandchildren: Charlanda, Nedra,
Derreck, Brian, Kristie, Christopher, Lydia, Faburla, Kyla, and Rachel. Her siblings:
Aminada, Jean Lucia, and Timothee (and spouse Mireille); alongside nieces and
nephews.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Ebel, and siblings Elizabeth, Daniel,
Simon, and Enock.
Barbara will long be remembered as a loving mother, sister, auntie, and grandmother —a kind and caring woman of God.
A funeral service will be held at Église Adventiste Haïtienne du 7ᵉ Jour on Friday,
October 14th, located at 201 NW 46th Ave, Plantation, Florida 33317, at 10:00 a.m.
The burial will follow at Lauderdale Memorial Park Cemetery located at 2001 S.W. 4th
Ave. Fort Lauderdale, FL https://33315.The family invites all who knew Barbara to attend and share in remembering her life and legacy.
As we bid farewell to Barbara, we hold fast to the knowledge that she has found eternal
peace. May her legacy live on in the laughter she shared, the hands she helped, and
the faith she exemplified in Christ Jesus
