Carol Friedman Morgenstein's Obituary
CAROL FRIEDMAN MORGENSTEIN
July 2, 1932 - May 22, 2025
Our beautiful, classy wife and mother, Carol, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning after a long battle with dementia and cancer.
The only child of Celia Veiner and Herman Friedman of Philadelphia, PA, Carol attended Goucher College, graduating with a Bachelor’s in Education, and the University of Pennsylvania, from which she received her Master’s in Education. On June 18, 1955, Carol married the love of her life, Dr. Karl M. Morgenstein, of Baltimore, MD.
Carol and Karl had two children, Charles and Ron. The family started out living in Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, and later moved to the suburbs of New York City, where Carol taught remedial reading.
In 1971, the family moved to Hollywood, Florida, where Karl opened a private practice in Ear, Nose and Throat medicine. Carol worked in the office as an audiologist. Following Karl’s retirement, Carol took up painting as a hobby, ultimately exhibiting around South Florida and even selling a few of her pieces. Together, Carol and Karl traveled the World with many dear friends. She enjoyed philanthropy, and was a proud “Lion of Judah” of the Jewish Federation.
In recent years, Carol and Karl moved to Edgewater at Boca Pointe in Boca Raton to be closer to family.
Carol is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Karl; her sons Charles (Sharon) and Ron (Danijela); granddaughter Melissa; grandsons Michael and David; and great-grandson Zachary (and “grand-dog” Armstrong).
Our family would like to thank Rita Pierre, Heather Green, Diane Shakur, Marjorie Lindsay, Beryl Jackson, Alma Forrester-Riley and the rest of the staff at FirstLantic Healthcare, for the love and care they gave to Carol during the last few years of her life. We would also like to express our appreciation to Vitas Hospice Services for helping Carol to pass peacefully and with dignity, and for helping the family through this difficult time.
Burial will be private.
