Caroline Chichester's Obituary
Caroline Chichester known as Da-ta, 79 years old departed this life on Friday 12-09-2016 at 8:35 am, at Florida Medical Centre.
She was born on 11-12-1937 to Mabel and Adolphus Chichester, in Mahiacony Guyana she was the 11th of 15 children, also one of a twin set.
She is survived by her daughter Liselle, grandson Rajin, granddaughter Aryana and son-in-law Avi. Also a sister Queen and two brothers Paul and George. Nieces, nephews and their families.
Da-ta left her hometown to start a new life in the city of Georgetown at the age of 17. She worked as a Secretary for a gas company DOCOL, for over 25 years. Working in this field gave her the ability to become a human information data storage with a memory of about 3 Tera Bytes (LOL). She was very good with name, events, and dates.
Caroline was a very strict when it came to manners, table etiquette and self-respect. She was a very extraordinary woman who was always well attired for the occasion. Who always walked upright with grace and always wants us to do the same because it shows confidence. She was a catholic stalwart and a member of the Immaculate Conception. She enjoyed singing even if it’s off keyed sometimes. She would never sit more than the 3rd pew in church. She enjoyed the events at her church and spending time with her friends when she can. After retirement she became more involved in the church events and more devoted to god. She was also an excellent listener and gave appropriate advises even though they may be difficult to apply. She never wallowed in self praises or looked for rewards from lives she has touch. Whatever she did she did it so as to assist whoever to achieve their goal or execute a goal.
In her later years after moving into an assisted living home she would travel ever so often to the US where is enjoyed spending time with her daughter and her family in New York. Then going to Florida where she had lots of fun seeing her sister just like old times. Seeing the 2nd and 3rd generation gave her great joy and satisfaction. In Guyana she had the best care coming from an unexpected source, her great niece Juanita who made every effort to ensure her safety in both financial and well-being, which gave her a sense of security.
In her passing she went with that security, joy and satisfaction in her heart. She knew she was loved and cared for by many. Her life was one we can take from to enhance ours.
