Chadwyck Nicholas Foster Reid's Obituary
Chadwyck Nicholas Foster Reid, lovingly known as "Chad" or "Nick," was a passionate and vibrant soul whose life ended abruptly on Friday, December 13, 2024. Born on May 19, 1990, at Broward General Hospital in Fort Lauderdale, Chad entered the world as a large ball of energy, weighing over 10 pounds. He was the beloved son of Sharon Foster and Carlton Reid.
From an early age, Chad's charismatic personality set the stage for an exciting journey filled with memorable moments. His mother fondly recalls him as a bouncing baby and an energetic toddler who loved visiting Walmart at University and Oakland Park Boulevard. He would yell out the greeter’s name whenever he went there. His aunt remembers him spending summer vacations in Jamaica where one of his favorite things to do was climbing the burglar bars of the front porch while taunting the next-door neighbor who was talking loudly on the phone. He would shout “ Mr. W… I can’t hear you”.
Chad's academic path took him from Phyls Academy to Everglades High and then to the Military Academy. Along the way his electrifying personality couldn't be contained in one place, leading him to live with his older sister, Colleen, and her family while attending Kaffie Middle School in Corpus Christi, Texas. However, Texas couldn't hold him for long, and Chad returned to the Fort Lauderdale area.
Chad's adult life was marked by his relentless pursuit of a career that matched his desire for freedom. He explored various paths, including towing and entrepreneurship with Hoodguyz, before finding his true calling as a truck driver. Trucking became his passion and transformed him into owning his own trucking company. Trucking served as the perfect outlet for his adventurous spirit.
Despite his love for excitement and spontaneity, Chad found peace in simple pleasures, such as watching airplanes land and take off at the airport; weekend getaways; live music and trying new restaurants with his family. He cherished family gatherings, holidays, trips, and other events, always striving to bring his loved ones together. Chad's hobbies included golfing and boating. He was known for his humorous impressions of his father, Carlton, and sometimes his mother, Sharon. His unique political beliefs and the cap on his truck's dashboard reflected his individuality.
Chad's life was filled with love and joy. He brought two precious gifts to his family: his sons, Christian and Aayden Reid, aged 15 and 13, respectively. He married Jessica Wagner on April 3, 2017, and together they built a life filled with thrills and adventure.
Chad is survived by his wife, Jessica; his sons, Christian and Aayden; his mother, Sharon; his sisters, Colleen and Candace; his brother, Clint; his nieces, Brianna and Taylor; his nephews, Duane, Chase, Bryce Rudy and Aaron; his maternal aunts, Paulette, Vena, and Ava; his maternal uncles, Kingsley and Kirk; and numerous cousins and extended family members.
Chad was loved by many and will be deeply missed. Though his physical presence is gone, the eternal light of his vitality shines within all who knew him. His memory will live on in our hearts forever.
