Evelyn Patricia Palladino Davidson's Obituary
Evelyn Patricia Palladino Davidson passed away leaving behind a legacy of faith, love, service, generosity, and devotion to family.
Born on September 2, 1945, in New York City, Evelyn was the daughter of Sam and Rose Palladino and was raised in Monsey, New York, alongside her brother, Eddie. Her childhood was filled with cherished memories of summer vacations at Villa Roma in the Catskills, family road trips to Florida, and adventures to Nova Scotia. As a young girl, she enjoyed playing CYO basketball, displaying the determination and spirit that would remain with her throughout her life.
From an early age, Eve knew exactly what she wanted to be. When asked about her earliest ambition, her answer was simple: “To be a mom.” It was a dream she fulfilled beautifully.
She was the proud mother of four children: Mark, Shawn, Janice, and Samantha. She devoted her life to raising her family and took immense pride in watching her children grow. She once said that her proudest family moments were simply watching her children grow up and participating in as many of their activities as possible. In the early years of raising her family, Eve often worked as many as three jobs at a time to help provide for those she loved, always putting her family first.
Her greatest joy in later years was being grandmother to her seven beloved grandchildren: Emily, Hannah, Izzy, Hayley, Abigail, Emmaline and Jackson. She treasured every moment spent with them and loved watching them grow. She was also blessed with six cherished great-grandchildren: Lena, Benson, Lucy, Peter, Theadora and Isladora who brought her tremendous joy and happiness. Her daughters and son-in laws were always a natural extension of her family, Greg, James, Susan and Kim.
Eve shared an extraordinary love story with her husband, Greg Davidson. Married on January 16, 1971, they built a life centered on faith, family, friendship, and unconditional love. Greg was, in her words, “so much of my heart” and “my rock.” Their marriage was a beautiful example of devotion and partnership that endured until Greg’s passing in the summer of 2024.
Eve was full of life and had a remarkable gift for making people feel welcome. During Thanksgiving, Christmas, and family gatherings, she often opened her home and her table to those who might otherwise have been alone. She believed there was always room for one more person and one more chair at the table.
A gifted gardener, she found joy in cultivating beauty. She was especially proud of being named Woman of the Year by the Bayberry Garden Club many times, an honor that reflected her passion and dedication. She was also deeply proud of her long service with the Monroe-Woodbury Ambulance Corps, where she had the opportunity to help others in times of need.
She loved sewing, quilting, crocheting beautiful keepsakes for family and friends, reading, working puzzles, gardening, helping others, and spending time with those she loved. She cherished simple pleasures, especially sitting by the beach listening to the waves and spending time with Greg and her family.
Faith was the cornerstone of Evelyn’s life. She held a deep devotion to the Blessed Mother and believed strongly in the mercy, forgiveness, and everlasting love of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Her faith guided her actions and inspired the kindness, compassion, and generosity she shared with others throughout her life.
When asked about her greatest accomplishments, Evelyn’s answer revealed everything about the woman she was:
“My children and my love of my husband.”
Those words perfectly capture a life well lived.
Evelyn nurtured everything she touched, her family, her friendships, her community, her faith, and the beautiful gardens she lovingly tended. She measured success not by what she accumulated, but by the love she gave, the family she raised, and the lives she touched.
Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy lives on in her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, friends, and all those fortunate enough to have known her.
Today we find comfort knowing she has been reunited with her beloved Greg and rests peacefully in the loving embrace of our Lord.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:23
Forever loved.
Forever remembered.
Forever in our hearts.
A memorial service celebrating the lives of Evelyn and her beloved husband, Greg Davidson, with full military honors, will be held later this summer at the West Palm Beach National Cemetery. Additional details will be shared with family and friends as they become available.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a loving donation in memory of Evelyn to the Padre Pio Foundation at https://PadrePio.org. This would be a beautiful way to honor her deep faith, her devotion to the Blessed Mother, and her unwavering belief in the mercy and love of Jesus Christ.
