Evelyn Celia Van Dam's Obituary
Evelyn Van Dam, 82, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family and caregiver Carlene.
Born in Bronx, New York, Evelyn moved to North Miami Beach as a young girl and spent most of her life in South Florida. She attended the University of Florida before completing her degree at the University of Miami. She later married Philip Van Dam and was the devoted mother of two sons, Gregory and Brian.
Evelyn was an art teacher, a talented artist, and someone who found beauty in the world around her. She had a lifelong love of painting, theater, music, and travel, especially cruises and art retreats with cherished friends. An avid Elvis Presley fan, she treasured visiting Graceland and delighted in attending Elvis tribute performances whenever she could.
Above all, Evelyn will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, unwavering encouragement, and unconditional love. She believed deeply in the people she loved, always offering support, wisdom, and reassurance. She had a remarkable ability to make others feel valued, cared for, and accepted. Her warmth, compassion, and friendship touched countless lives and will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
She is survived by her children, along with many extended family members and lifelong friends who will miss her dearly.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at:
