Frank J Berchok's Obituary
Frank J Berchok, of Sunrise, Florida, passed away on April 3, 2024, at the age of 92 years old. He was born on March 19, 1932, in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, to Suzanne (Berchok) Kadar, who preceded him.
Frank cherished his memories with his beloved, late grandparents, Michael and Helen Berchok, fondly recalling moments of his youth spent in their care. He was a proud Korean War veteran, having served his country with honor and bravery. And, after his military service, he worked as a United Steel Worker in Pittsburgh for 40 years before retiring to Florida with his late wife, Marianne.
Frank was known for his quick-witted sense of humor and for being exceptionally active. He greatly enjoyed traveling to Mexico, visiting various destinations across the country alongside family and friends; and was a familiar sight to his neighbors, riding around on his bicycle nearly daily, a hobby that he proudly maintained well into his early 90s. Additionally, to all who knew him, Frank's great affection for his pet dogs was one of his most defining characteristics; They were his constant companions who brought him immense joy and comfort throughout his life.
Frank was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Marianne Berchok, his son Hector Berchok, and his granddaughter Carly Berchok Lavelle. He is survived by his sons Frank H (Veronika) Berchok and Michael Joseph Berchok, his grandchildren Terez (Aaron) Keith, Frank H Berchok II, and Shane (Veronica) Berchok, as well as seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. He will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Frank’s honor to the Saving Sage Animal Rescue Foundation of Sunrise, Florida.
