Georgina Colon's Obituary
Georgina Colón, 83, of North Lauderdale, returned to her heavenly Father on March 19, 2026, passing peacefully into eternal rest. Born on April 23, 1942, in Isabela, Puerto Rico. Georgina carried the soul of her island, a quiet strength, a tender heart and an unshakable faith through every season of her life.
Georgina was the devoted wife of the late Arnaldo Colón, with whom she built a life centered on love, family and faith. She is survived by her children, Edna (Joaquin) Bobé, Providencia (Edward) Bergeron, Arnaldo Colón, Rose Colón and Stacie (Edwin) Avilés. She now rests in eternal peace with her beloved daughters, Irma Avilés and Lizzette Colón.
Georgina leaves behind nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild, all of whom filled her world with joy, pride and purpose. She celebrated their milestones as if they were her own, lifted them with gentle words during their struggles and cherished every hug, every visit and every “I love you.” Her love for them knew no conditions, no limits and no end.
A woman of deep and abiding faith, Georgina was a devoted member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church for more than 30 years. She served in several ministries with humility and compassion, offering her time, her prayers and her soft but steady strength to her church family. Her faith was not just something she practiced. It was something she lived, and everyone who met her felt the grace of it.
She found her peace in nature, especially in her garden, where she nurtured her orchids with the same tenderness she poured into the people she loved. Among the blooms she planted, she found joy, reflection and quiet moments with God. Her warm wit, her welcoming spirit and her instinct to nurture made her a mother figure to many and someone who comforted without judgment and loved without hesitation.
