With deep sorrow, we announce the peaceful passing of Herbert George Henry, age 84, on February 8, 2026, in Tamarac, Florida.
Born in Cheapside, Manchester, Jamaica, to Charles and Muriel Henry, Herbert later married and immigrated to Brooklyn, New York. There, he worked for the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and built a life centered on family, love, faith, and service.
In his later years, he retired to Tamarac, Florida, where he was lovingly cared for by his stepdaughters, Carlia Francis and Althea Reynolds (Debbie), along with her children — Amashika, Omar, and Daniel — who remained devoted to him.
Herbert will be remembered for his generosity, his kind heart, his strong sense of responsibility, and his unwavering loyalty to those he loved.
He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Melta Henry; his devoted granddaughter, Amashika Rose; his sister, Beryl Saunchez; brother-in-law, Sherlock Saunchez; niece, Rosemarie Saunchez-Barosy; stepdaughters, Carlia Francis and Althea Reynolds; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
