Herbert Martin Rice's Obituary
Herbert Martin Rice, 90, of Boynton Beach, FL, passed away peacefully on May 30th, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Providence, Rhode Island, on 7/11/1933, Herbert was the beloved son of Alvin and Ida Rice.
Herbert grew up in Providence and moved to Beverly Hills to finish high school before a brief time in college. He served his country honorably in the Air Force during the Korean War. After his service, Herbert pursued a successful career in the swimming pool industry, owning and operating ABC Pools as a business in Miami/Dade County for 40 years until his retirement in 1996.
His friends and family will always remember his [personal qualities, e.g., "kindness," "sense of humor," "generosity," etc. Herbert was a devoted husband of over 60 years to his late wife Barbara who passed away in 2022.
He is survived by his children Jonathan and Gary, his daughters in law Rebecca and Debbie, his grandchildren Adam, Eric, Noah, Aaron, Jenny, Daniel, Lauren and Elyssa. He also leaves behind many cherished friends and extended family members.
A celebration of Herbert's life will be held at Gary & Debbie’s house on Sunday afternoon/evening and Monday afternoon and evening.
