Iris Ulrich's Obituary
Loving wife to her husband Marvin of sixty-seven years, and mother Steven and Stuart, with an unmatched love for her extended family (as well as anything that contained sugar!). A kind hearted soul with an irrepressible laugh and a patented ear to ear grin. She adored children who in turn flocked to her. Always looking on the bright side and thinking positively despite whatever situation of adversity existed. She was non judgmental and saw good and brought out the best in everyone, and rarely if ever complained. There was no such thing as a stranger to her, everyone who met her became an instant friend. When it came to remembering birthdays and anniversaries, and other important dates, it was as if she had a Rolodex in her head, their was never a need to look any of such information up, she had it off the top of her head.
Born in Brooklyn, NY on August 5, 1927, she married her childhood friend Marvin on May 29th, 1949, and after having two sons, one in 1952, the other in 1954, the family moves to the borough of Queens in 1956. Iris and her husband Marvin resided there until they moved to Broward County, FL in 1981. Iris was active in school activities for both sons, and in the March of Dimes charity. After her sons graduated from high school it was now her turn to further her education, she chose to attend Queensborough Community College where she made the honor roll.
Iris and her husband Marvin enjoyed their retirement years in Florida, and with friends went on a long awaited and planned trip to Alaska. Unfortunately Alzheimer's Disease occurred beginning in 2011, and in recent years required the help of two aides, Patsy and Morah whom Iris revered and in turn they treated as if she were their own grandmother, and for this the family is ever grateful. Iris will be remembered for her loving ways, being honorable to the nth degree and her righteousness. She will be sorely missed by all.
