I remember flying from Utica to Yonkers for a summer visit. We went to Playland and had a blast. Also flew up in the winter and Jay surprised me with a New York Knicks basketball and tickets to see them play at MSG. For some unknown reason, Jay remembered me as a 12 year old…so we just went with it 😄. Thanks for the good memories and I pray Kathy, Denise and Lorry will feel strength and comfort 🙏🏻
Jay was aways Mr. Cool. Always the right haircut, clothes that fit him to a tee and of course the right car. When I met him in Florida the first time back in the day he was driving a bright red 450SL, of which he cruised around listening to his favorite, Neil Diamond, way cool! Jay had the winning smile, always followed with an upbeat greeting. Jay loved his girls, all three of them, Kathy, Lorry and Denise.
He will be missed by all.

Dear Dad, I have spoken with you or FaceTimed with you every single day for as long as I can remember. I can’t imagine my life without you now. You wanted everyone to be happy, even if it was at your expense. You were the most kind, caring, loving and generous father anyone could ask for. I will miss sharing our conversations about recipes, baseball standings, how bad the Giants are doing, Syracuse sports and everything in between. I will miss getting German Chocolate Cake ice cream with you, Mounds bars, and your French Toast Sticks for breakfast. I’ll miss you asking every day about Tom and the girls and listening to all of my crazy stories from the police department. I can only hope to mirror your example of humility and optimism with others. You were truly one of a kind. I will love and miss you forever. Until we meet again….
I met Jay Werner when I was in high school and when he and Kathy were married. He always took the time to talk with me back then and later on when visiting everyone in Florida, he just couldn’t do enough for you..we always say he was the quintessential host! I smile when I think of him and will always remember the good times. Rest in peace my brother-in-law..
Dad, your were a man who was always looking out for other people and just wanted everyone to be happy. Your needs were simple and patience endless. I will miss you forever!
