Jean Elie Romick Balin's Obituary
Jean-Elie Romick Balin, affectionately called Mico, passed away on February 8, 2025, at the age of 83 in North Lauderdale, Florida. Born on July 26, 1941, Mico was a devoted family man, husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Marie-Claude Rodriguez-Balin, His daughter Gretta Balin, and her husband Wuilfredo his son Daniel and his wife Raday, their mother Nereida Lugones-Diaz, his step-children Rebecca Carmant-Demas and her husband Armand Demas, Rudolf Rodriguez and his wife Bertrude Rodriguez, Johyko Rodriguez, and his grandchildren, Victor, Martin, Boris, Cyril, Tristan, Saja, Maleyah, Jace, Jalise, Anaya, his sister Gretta Merceron and husband Alix Merceron. He was preceded in death by his parents Constance and Alphonse Balin, his brothers Alix Balin, Frank Balin, and his sister Mireille Balin.
Mico led a life enriched with both personal and professional achievements. He is lovingly remembered by his friends and relatives, his nieces Farah and Alexandra Merceron, his nephew Alix Balin,his brother-in-law Louis Chaton Rodriguez, his friend Bob Chicoye, his aunts and numerous cousins, as well as members of his extended family from the Tassy, Delpeche, Rodriguez, Danier, Lemonier, and Hyppolite families. He will be missed dearly by all those whose lives he touched.
A memorial service will be held at St Andrews Catholic Church, 9950 NW 29th St, Coral Springs, Florida, on Saturday, February 22, at 10 am. A viewing will take place before the mass, at Alexander-Levitt Funeral Home and Cremation 8135 W McNab Rd, Tamarac, Florida from 8:30- to 9:00 am on February 22, 2025.
