Joan Leila Sampson's Obituary
Joan Leila Sampson, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2025, at the age of 100 years young. Born on March 22, 1925, in Manhattan, NY, Joan lived a life filled with love, resilience, and cherished moments with family and friends.
Her loving husband, Stanley Sampson, predeceased her in 2012. She was a devoted mother and mother-in-law to her two children and their spouses, Peter Sampson & Ronnie Richman Sampson and Carla Sampson Nierenburg & Carl Nierenburg, who will carry forward her strength and wisdom. Her legacy will continue through her 2 grandchildren, Lisa Sampson Seide & Eric Sampson. Her 3rd grandchild, Erica Hayden Paris, is already waiting to see her in heaven. Her four great-grandchildren, Sarah & Lauren Seide and Sophia & Riley Sampson, will forever hold her close to their hearts.
A longtime resident of Long Island, New York, Joan & Stanley moved to Coconut Creek,
Florida in 1995, where she was known for her kindness, warmth, leadership and unwavering love for her community. Her presence brought joy to all who knew her, and she leaves behind a lifetime of beautiful memories. These same qualities carried over to Wickshire Senior Living, another warm and beautiful community, where she lived out the remaining days of her life.
Joan will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May her memory bring comfort to those who loved her and an inspiration to those who she held dear.
