Linda Mendell Kaplan's Obituary
Linda Kaplan, 92, passed away peacefully on early Yom Kippur morning, October 12, 2024. Born and raised in Camden, New Jersey, Linda lived a remarkable life filled with love, adventure, and generosity.
In 1957, she met Morty Kaplan, and after a whirlwind month-long romance, they were engaged. They spent the next 64 years by each other’s sides, sharing a deep and enduring partnership that saw them travel the world together, visiting all seven continents and countless countries. They both lived to the age of 92, a poetic parallel to their lifelong journey together.
Linda and Morty’s marriage was built on a foundation of strong family values. Linda was deeply committed to knowing every detail about her family’s lives, always eager to be involved and ensure that everyone stayed connected. She made sure that family gatherings were well-attended and full of love, laughter, and support. Her ability to keep everyone close was a hallmark of her life, and her dedication to her family was unwavering.
Linda was known for her impeccable, iconic sense of style—she always looked glamorous, no matter the occasion. She had a love for games, whether it was cards, Mahjong, or Scrabble, and her competitive spirit always made for the most enjoyable times with family and friends.
She is survived by her sons, Ian Kaplan and Howard Kaplan, her daughter-in-law Andrea, and her grandchildren Lauren, Josh, Jordan, Jared, and Joelle, all of whom she adored. Her family was her greatest pride, and she took immense joy in the love and values she and Morty passed down to their children and grandchildren.
