Louise Karlin's Obituary
Louise Anne “Lou Anne” Karlin passed away peacefully on April 19, 2026, at the age of 69.
Born on April 25, 1956, in Beaufort, South Carolina, Lou Anne was raised in a Marine Corps family, relocating often during her childhood as her father served his country as a Lt Colonel.
These early experiences shaped her remarkable ability to connect with people from all walks of life and form friendships.
Lou Ann had a vibrant, social spirit and was driven by warmth and generosity. She found joy in music and dancing, bringing light wherever she went.
She loved cooking for others, always creating meaningful moments around the table.
Her giving nature extended beyond her home as she volunteered with breast cancer organizations, Hadassah and the Jewish Federation, reflecting her compassion and commitment to others.
A breast cancer survivor in her early adulthood, Lou Anne became an advocate for awareness, support, and an early champion of clean eating and holistic health.
Always on a spiritual journey, Lou Anne raised her family in Florida, engaged in Jewish community, learning, and holidays—from which she derived great meaning and joy.
She is survived by her daughters, Alicia Karlin and Amy Karlin, of whom she was very proud.
A memorial will be held on April 30 at Alexander-Levitt Funeral Home in Tamarac. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a local women’s shelter.
Lou Anne will be remembered for her warmth, her kindness, and her ability to bring people together.
