Muriel Gloria "Mickey" Levitt's Obituary
Muriel Levitt, affectionately known as Mickey, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2025, in Coconut Creek, Florida. She was born on December 4, 1931, in Brooklyn, New York, to Benjamin and Dorothy Ledwitz, and grew up alongside her brothers Frank, Martin, and Paul.
At the age of 18, Mickey met and married the love of her life, Stuart Levitt. Their journey together began in Las Cruces, New Mexico, where they were stationed before returning to New York. Over the years, they built a beautiful life in Miami Beach, Melbourne, Cocoa Beach, and most recently Coconut Creek. Mickey and Stuart shared an extraordinary marriage of more than 72 years, a testament to their devotion and love.
Together they raised two sons, Barry (Marcy) and Allan, and were blessed with grandchildren Stacy (Jordan) and Scott (Lizzie), as well as great-grandchildren Corey, Riley, Lexie, and Chloe. Mickey’s family was her greatest joy, and she cherished every role as mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Mickey was deeply committed to her community. She served as President of Hadassah in Melbourne and Cocoa Beach, was an active member of Temple Beth Sholom, and generously volunteered at Cape Canaveral Hospital. Her kindness, humor, wisdom, and generosity touched countless lives.
Alongside Stuart, Mickey built a successful career in the construction industry. She was a savvy businesswoman ahead of her time, admired for her intelligence and determination. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Mickey had a special love for animals, especially dogs, whose compassion and companionship she treasured.
Her loving and positive spirit will live on eternally in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know her. Mickey will be remembered as a remarkable woman whose warmth and strength enriched the lives of her family, friends, and community.
