Parwidi Goundasammy (1947-2024)
Parwidi Goundasammy, beloved mother to two children, 77, of Tamarac, Florida, passed away on October 17, leaving a void her family cannot fill.
She was born in Letter Kenny, Guyana, 1947, to Chinbai Gopaulsammy and Sundramah Naidoo. Parwidi attended Royal Alexandria Hospital School in Flintshire, Wales, United Kingdom, and studied Nursing and Midwifery in Berkshire, United Kingdom. She worked as a midwife at Basildon Hospital in Basildon, Essex, England, United Kingdom. She also worked as a midwife in Canada at the Grace Hospital in Calgary, Alberta, and Houston, Texas. After moving to the United States with her husband Basil and daughters, she worked in labor and delivery at West Boca Medical Center for twenty-five years. She retired after her last granddaughter was born 12 years ago.
Parwidi was a devoted mother to Natalie and Andrea, with whom she spent all her later years. She always provided them with the love and support they needed.
Parwidi was especially happy with her grandchildren, Luc, London, and Asha. She doted on them since birth and showered them with love constantly.
Parwidi was preceded in death by Mahaindra, Dharmendra, and Jeetindra Ramsaran, and is survived by her daughters Andrea and Natalie, Basil, her sister Mary, and her brother Dennis, who will never forget the love she brought to their lives.
Celebration of Life is November 3rd at Alexander Leavitt Funeral Home.
