Phyllis R. Ford's Obituary
Phyllis was born in Aurora, West Virginia to the late Kathleen and Fred Ford on August 10, 1940. She attended high school in Ohio, and upon graduation went to Kent State University where she earned her bachelor’s degree. She later earned her master’s degree from Florida Atlantic University.
Phyllis went on to have a long career in Education and spent thirty-eight years teaching physical education, health, science, and biology in the public school system. She also coached the track team, swim team, cheerleading squad, and drill team which all continuously placed in competitions. While she loved sports and received many awards, trophies, letters of recognition and accolades for her athletic ability, perhaps her greatest love was her family.
Phyllis leaves to mourn her life partner and wife of more than thirty-seven years, Linda Zeltner as well as the five children that she loved and helped to raise: Bill, Julie, Danny, Edward and Michael. She is survived by Lawrence Ford, David (Madeline) Ford, Donna (Jack) Jones, many beloved nieces, nephews, relatives, and a plethora of loving friends.
Phyllis was a member of the Body of Christ Church in Oakland Park Florida for 25 years where she also served graciously as the church secretary.
