Robert Stephen Rausch's Obituary
On Friday, June 24th, 2022, Robert “Bob” Stephen Rausch, passed away at the age of 70, after a valiant fight against prostate cancer. Bob was born on February 15th, 1952 in Washington, DC to Jane and Robert Raymond Rausch.
He received his undergraduate degree with distinction at the University of Virginia and subsequently enlisted in the United States Coast Guard, where he served as a Machinery Technician in New Orleans, Louisiana. Upon his Honorable Discharge, Bob attended William & Mary Law School, and began his career at Hunton & Williams, where he specialized in real estate law.
Bob was renowned for his excellent work product, and quickly rose to become a partner at the law firm. He shared his passion for the law, by becoming an adjunct professor at the University of Miami Law School. He retired on April 1st, 2020, after a distinguished nearly 40 year career at Hunton.
Bob married Sharon Tester, and although the union wasn’t permanent, they made a strong co-parenting team for their children, Robert Johnathon and Douglas Rausch. Bob is survived by his mother, Jane, his brother, William, his sister, Patricia, and his two children, Robert Johnathon and Douglas. He is pre-deceased by his father, Robert Raymond.
Bob is remembered as a man of immense faith, integrity, and generosity. He couldn’t have been any prouder of his family and bragged about them at every opportunity. Bob would always volunteer his time and talents to help anyone who asked. He enjoyed the simpler things in life, like eating Oreos and watching Jeopardy. He will be sorely missed.
A viewing will be held from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM on Friday, July 1st, 2022 at the Alexander-Levitt Chapel (8135 W Mcnab Road, Tamarac, FL 33321). Funeral services will be held immediately following the viewing at 3:00 PM.
