Ronald Gulliver's Obituary
Ronald E. Gulliver, 81, of Tamarac, Florida, passed away peacefully after a brave fight with kidney disease and myelodysplastic syndrome. Born and raised in Yonkers, NY, Ronald was dedicated to his family, honorably served his country, and worked to make a difference in his community. Ronald attended Howard University during a time of significant social change, and played an active role in the Civil Rights Movement, participating in freedom rides, voter registration drives and the historic March on Washington.
In 1968, Ronald married the love of his life, Melanie King-Gulliver. Together, they shared 56 wonderful years of marriage, raising two beloved children and building a life filled with love, laughter, and
countless cherished memories. After his time at Howard, Ronald served his country in the United States Air Force, where he specialized in aircraft electrical systems. Following his military service, he embarked on a long and dedicated career with AT&T in New York, holding multiple roles in sales and operations. In 1997, Ronald and Melanie relocated to Florida, where they embraced a new chapter of life. While Ronald was a lifelong Giants fan, over time he also became a Miami Dolphins fan. Together, Ronald and Melanie raised two children, Robert Gulliver of Montclair, NJ, and Cheryl Gulliver of Dutchess County, NY. Ronald will be remembered for his warmth, integrity, the love he held for his family and his wry and witty sense of humor.
Ronald’s legacy lives on through his wife, Melanie; his children, Robert and Cheryl; his daughter-in-law, Karen Gulliver; his cherished granddaughters, Simone and Martine Gulliver; and his sister Deborah Stoby.
