Sandra Schwam's Obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Sandra "Sandy" Schwam (חנה סיסל), who died peacefully on Sunday, July 5, 2026.
Sandy was known for her love of music (particularly Frank Sinatra, Neil Diamond, and Andrea Bocelli), socializing with friends, and enjoying a good party. She cherished spending time by the ocean with family and never met a cookie she didn’t love (oatmeal raisin and lemon in particular!). An active member of her community, Sandy participated in Jewish Women International, The Red Hat Society, and her local aqua aerobics groups in both Hallandale and Jacksonville. She leaves behind a legacy of love and will be deeply missed.
She was predeceased by her husband, Harvey Schwam; her parents, Rhea and Manny Solomon; and her sister, Greta Rothman.
She is survived by her sons, Gary Schwam (Limor Glazer Schwam) of Richmond, Virginia, and Brian Schwam (Rebecca Schwam) of Jacksonville, Florida, as well as her four loving grandchildren: Rachel Schwam, Carly Schwam, Isabel Schwam, and Briana (Schwam) Leone (Dante Leone).
Funeral arrangements have been made for Tuesday, July 7, at Star of David Memorial Gardens in North Lauderdale, Florida.
The family wishes to thank the staff at both Grand Living at Tamaya in Jacksonville, Florida, and Community Hospice of Northeast Florida for the love, care, and dignity with which they served Sandy and our family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Foundation of Community Hospice & Palliative Care, 4266 Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville, FL 32257, or online at https://www.thefoundationcares.org.
