Sherry Skinner's Obituary
Sherry Skinner, of Sunrise, Florida, passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, November 20, 2025, with dignity and grace, and surrounded by love.
She was born on November 9, 1943, in St. Albans, Queens, New York, and was lovingly raised by her mother, Jeanne True, along with her grandmother, Mrs. Harriet Vaughn.
Sherry was a devoted wife, a loving mother and grandmother, and a loyal friend—someone who brought joy to every life she touched.
She is survived by her children, George Skinner, Grady Skinner, and Tracy Skinner; and by her grandchildren, Samantha Soler (née Skinner) and Spencer Skinner. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George J. Skinner.
Her family and friends will forever remember her for her kindness, warmth, strength, and compassion, and for the lasting impact she made on the lives of those who knew and loved her.
A service to honor and celebrate Sherry’s life will be held Saturday, December 20, 2025, at 1:00pm-3:00pm, at Alexander-Levitt, located at 8135 W. McNab Road, Tamarac, FL 33321.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that others honor Sherry’s memory by simply performing an act of kindness.
Her family extends heartfelt thanks to her caring neighbors, whose kindness, support, and reliability meant so much and provided comfort through both ordinary days and difficult moments. Additional thanks are given to Ms. Debbi, RN CM, Ms. Thelma, and Ms. Fernandi for their devoted care in her final days, and to the dedicated hospice staff and caregivers at Trustbridge Hospice, whose compassion and support were deeply appreciated.
Sherry’s spirit remains with us—in the love she gave, the strength she carried, and the kindness she shared.
