Shirley Besnoff's Obituary
Shirley Besnoff peacefully passed away April 6, 2025 at 95 years old. Born on December 10, 1929 in Philadelphia, PA, Shirley was preceded in death by David, her devoted husband of 70 years. Shirley had a long career in public service as a Laboratory Assistant at Northeast High School in Philadelphia, where she spent a part of every day playing bridge with the teaching staff. After their retirement, Shirley and David moved to their dream home in Florida. She was actively involved in the Sunrise Lakes Phase III Florida lifestyle and loved the pool, playing mahjong, cards, and dominoes, but her main joy was playing Bridge. She had so many friends who were with her throughout the years to enjoy traveling all over the world, dining and shows. She enjoyed and looked forward to her dancing performances in the annual Phase III Show. She cherished keeping up with all the activities of her 3 children, 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, in addition to her nieces and nephews. She was an inspiration to family and friends in her zest for life by living it to the fullest. She will be immensely missed by all. Funeral service to take place at Alexander-Levitt Funeral & Cremations 8135 W McNab Road Tamarac, FL 33321 on Monday, April 14, 2025 at 11:15am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in Shirley’s honor be made to the charity of your choice.
