STANLEY R. ROSENTHAL
Stanley R. Rosenthal of Boca Raton, Florida born April 8, 1929, in Brooklyn, New York, passed away Saturday, December 31, 2022, at age 93. He was the only child of Moe and Tina Rosenthal and the pride of their lives. He is survived by his loving family, wife of 37 years Barbara Martineau Rosenthal, his daughter Hilary Rosenthal Taylor, stepson Jason Martineau, grandson Logan Rosenthal and granddaughter Lila Taylor. He was predeceased by his first wife Lois Rosenthal and son Robert Rosenthal. He was a devoted family man, a loyal friend, and a respected member of the community who was admired for his high ethical business standards.
Stanley graduated from New York University School of Commerce with a degree in accounting, cum laude, and was a lieutenant in the U.S. Army serving overseas in Germany during the Korean War. He moved to North Miami Beach, Florida from New York in 1963. Stanley, together with his company All-State Properties, was one of the prime developers of the City of Lauderhill. Later in his career he entered the Senior Independent Living market. He built and operated Forest Trace of Lauderhill and managed it until the property was sold in 2014. He was a mentor to his employees who worked with him for many years. He loved his work and went to his office everyday until the property sold. He was 85 at the time but continued to attend Lauderhill council meetings and look for new business opportunities. Stanley was also called upon to supply expert witness testimony in a number of court cases involving real estate development in Florida.
Stanley was recognized in 2002 by the Broward County Board of County Commissioners as a Pioneer in the development of the County. The Commissioners designated April 15, 2004, as “Stanley R. Rosenthal Day” in Broward County, and the Lauderhill City Council designated April 8, 2004 as “Stanley R. Rosenthal Day” in the City of Lauderhill. Stanley was considered an innovative visionary in the field of retirement housing. Along with his company, SRR Management Corp., in October 2000 he received a commendation from Secretary Cuomo of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (“HUD”) for his work at Forest Trace, which was selected by HUD’s Office of Multifamily Housing Programs as one of its high-performing multi-family properties. Stanley was invited to Washington to meet Secretary Cuomo and received the Secretary’s acknowledgment for his exceptional work in the field.
