Jules Margalit
My mother in law passed away peacefully a few weeks ago. She was an amazing lady who treated me like her son. She was energetic, smart, funny, generous, kind and non judgemental. She left behind 2 children, 4 grand children and 4 great grand kids, a brother, many nephews and nieces. She loved them all and would relish in seeing them, their pics and their accomplishments.
Stella was a quintessential beautiful 40’s and 50’s gal who married the captain of her high school basketball team. They benefitted from the great post war economic boom moving first to Spring Valley to be near family and subsequently to Tenafly and Florida. She married 2 successful gentleman and outlived most of her peers to the ripe old age of 96.
Mom loved to do the NY Times crossword puzzle, garden in her several homes, cook up
a storm for her family and friends in her many house parties. fly up to New York and Ohio to see her kids, and worship Regis Philbin. She kept on top of current events with her newspapers and enjoyed old movies on TNT throughout the night. In her later years she would watch all the good sitcoms from the 80’s and 90’s such as Two Half Men daytime reruns. She had a great sense of humor. Her attractive nature didn’t wane with time. Once when we were dining at the Lux at the Sawgrass mall, a friendly Russian sitting next to us with his family showed interest by asking her out. Of course she rebuffed him.
Stella was a master renovator of her homes outdoing home improvement shows on TV. She even found a mobile fix it man who would come at night to fix things. Mom was a master card player and Bridge player often participating in tournaments. She played tennis and golf in her youthful days. Stella would get up at 5am to get on line for Regis’s show in NY often chatting up a suitable mate for her grand daughter. She had great relations with many cousins in Oregon, NY, NJ, Mexico, Florida, Canada.
We will all miss Ms Stella
