Stuart Irwin Meyers' Obituary
Stuart Irwin Meyers
Beloved father, grandfather, and visionary real estate developer.
Stuart Irwin Meyers passed away peacefully, leaving behind a profound legacy in both his personal and professional life. Known for his generosity, sharp mind, and unwavering compassion, Stuart touched countless lives through his work and his heart.
Over a career spanning more than 50 years, he became a respected figure in the real estate industry, making a lasting impact on communities across Florida and West Texas. Stuart founded three major firms—The Related Companies Florida Low Income Tax Credit Housing Development Group, The Cornerstone Group, and Meyers Group—collectively responsible for developing over 20,000 rental units across 70 communities and securing more than $1 billion in financing. His leadership helped shape the landscape of affordable and market-rate housing, luxury rentals, and mixed-use developments.
He earned a BS in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, an MBA from Columbia University, and CPA certification from New York State. His philanthropic work continued through The Stuart I. Meyers Family Foundation, reflecting his deep commitment to community.
Stuart is survived by his daughter Wendy Crabb (Tom) and his son Jeff Meyers (Vivian). He was a proud grandfather to six grandchildren: Logan, McKenna, Griffin, April, Zach, and Jake.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to Shannon Moore and Justin Werts for their loyal care and companionship. Shannon’s dedication—especially in helping Stuart maintain his independence, accompany him on travels, and enjoy wonderful meals and experiences—brought him comfort and joy in his later years.
We hold onto the love he gave, the joy he sparked, and the countless ways he made us smile. In his honor, we promise to live, laugh, and love, just as he did. His legacy of love, laughter, and friendship will never fade.
His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit lives on in all who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Israel Emergency Fund, c/o the Greater Miami Jewish Federation.
