Sue Anne Roberts Daspit's Obituary
Sue Anne Roberts Daspit, 78, of Tamarac, FL passed away of natural causes on May 12, 2025. Sue was born on November 19, 1946, to the parents of Dwight and Vera Roberts. She was born and raised in Jacksonville, FL. She went on to attend and graduate from Jacksonville University, attaining a Bachelors Degree in Education. Sue began her career in education teaching both gifted and special education children in Jacksonville, Orlando, and Broward County. After finishing her career in education she became the co-owner of Herb’s Pharmacy, located in Pompano Beach, FL. Years later, CVS purchased Herb’s Pharmacy, and Sue went on to work for CVS assisting with the integration of computers in their pharmacies. Sue then moved to Chicago, IL where she worked as an Office Manager for a Podiatry practice. While in Chicago, she became an avid Chicago Sports fan, where she greatly enjoyed attending most Chicago Cubs games at Wrigley Field. Additionally, she was part of the arts, assisting with the Chicago Ballet’s annual production of the “Nutcracker”. In 2003, she returned to South Florida where she then earned her Insurance Agent’s License and began to sell AFLAC Supplemental Insurance. The greatest joy in her life came on April 10, 2007, when her granddaughter, Nicole Hennessy, was born. After exposing her granddaughter to tap and ballet at an early age, Sue would always insist on attending every one of Nicole’s dance performances. To spend more time with her family and to further enjoy life she retired in 2016. Those who knew her appreciated her knowledge, sense of humor, caring soul, and dedication. She and her husband, Phil, had a special relationship. All it took to remind each other of that was a simple DDW.
Sue Anne is survived by her husband Philip G. Daspit (Married August 30, 2007), her son David C. Hennessy II and his wife Marie Hennessy; Also surviving is her granddaughter Nicole Hennessy. Previous Marriages to: David C. Hennessy, J. Herbert Kalkstein, and Donald Gordon (engaged to and pre-deceased by)
A Celebration of Life to honor Sue Anne will take place on Monday, May 19, 2025 beginning at 1:00pm at Alexander-Levitt Funeral & Cremations.
