Violette Augustin's Obituary
We announce the peaceful passing of our beloved, Violette Augustin, with heavy hearts, on February 15, 2025. She was born on July 9, 1943 in Arcahaie, Haiti. Growing up in Haiti, Violette was surrounded by many relatives in a big family home filled with happiness and cherishable moments. Violette was a loving and devoted woman who adored the values of family above all. She had a smile that could brighten anyone's day, and her laughter brought warmth, comfort, and love that will forever be treasured in our memories.
Violette found joy in life’s simplest pleasures—she loved savoring Haitian cuisine, especially mayi moulen (cornmeal), diri kole ak pwa (rice and beans), chicken, Chinese food, especially shrimp fried rice, French fries and Pops cereal. She always ensured her dish was always clean. She enjoyed relaxing on her bed and spending time surrounded by her family, which brought her greatest happiness.
Violette was not just a mother and a grandmother, but the pillar of our family. While she preferred staying at home, her love and care knew no bounds. The children adored rushing to her side after school, knowing they would be welcomed with open arms. Witnessing the joy on their faces as they played in the pool from the comfort of her living room always brought a smile to her face. Violette was an easygoing lady, with a hint of sophistication that shone through in everything she did. Violette's presence filled our home with warmth and love, creating cherished memories that we hold dear in our hearts.
She is preceded in death by her husband Ernest Musset Augustin, and son, Pierre Albert Augustin. She is survived by her son, Pierre Louis (Alephe) Augustin; her daughter, Marie Conceptie Augustin; her sister Solange Elie; her adoring grandchildren, Deanna Augustin, Caitlyn Arianna Elizor, Justin Louis Augustin, Jenaya Kayla Elizort; and her goddaughter, Miriame Louissant. Violette also leaves behind many close relatives who were touched by her genuine heart and unwavering dedication to family.
Violette’s spirit was rooted in love, kindness, and family devotion. As we say goodbye, our grief is tempered by deep gratitude for the life she shared with us. Her endless love, wise counsel, and gentle spirit will forever be etched in our hearts.
May her memory be a blessing to all who knew her.
