Eric C Von Hofen

Eric C. Von Hofen, 53, formerly of New Kensington, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, Nov. 19, 2021, in Coral Springs, FL. Born on September 16 ,1968 in Elyria OH, Eric was a son of the late Earl W. Von Hofen III, and Joan E. (Schaeffer) Von Hofen. He was a 1987 graduate of Valley High School. He was an avid mechanic and enjoyed working on his motorcycle that he rode as much as he could. He loved animals, especially his huskies, and most of all, he enjoyed the time he could spend with family and friends. He served in the US Army for over 22 years, all over the world, and participated in both Operation Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom. Eric is survived by his loving wife, Marilynn (Hartman) of 31 years; one daughter, Mariah E. Howard and her husband, Jake, of West Leechburg, PA; Two sons, Eric V. Von Hofen and wife Sophia of Tamarac, FL; Ryan Von Hofen of Coral Springs, FL; A sister, Ann E. Swab and husband David of Moorhead, MN; and brother John P. Von Hofen and wife Gina of Leechburg, PA. Services for immediate family members will be held Friday, Nov. 26 at 2 p.m. at Alexander-Levitt Funeral Home in Tamarac, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the VFW, American Legion, Wounded Warrior Project.
