Merle Jane Mazzarino's Obituary
Merle Jane Mazzarino, 72, of Pompano Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully in her home on December 8th, 2025. Born in Hollywood, Florida, on September 7th, 1953.
Merle graduated from South Broward High School, followed by the University of Florida, and received a Master’s Degree in Special Education. She retired in June of 2016, after devoting 40 years of her life to the children and families of the Broward County School System.
Merle loved traveling the world, going to the beach, doing Jazzercize, and spending time with loved ones. She is survived by her son (or as she would say, SON-shine), Dylan Pinard and his wife, Emily.
Merle will be remembered for her contagious laughter, being unapologetically herself, and her ability to put a smile on everyone’s face. She welcomed all into her home without hesitation and always had love to spread.
If you would like to honor Merle’s memory in lieu of flowers, the family requests a monetary donation in any amount to Galapagos Conservancy, in honor of one of her favorite trips.
The celebration of life will be a private event.
